The cheapest full plate on the Captain D’s menu with prices is the 1 Piece Fish and Fries at $5.49, and the most expensive single order is the Family Sampler at $46.99. A two-piece fish meal, the item most people actually walk in for, runs $9.79.
Budget about $12 to $14 per adult once a drink goes on the tray, or $34 for a family of four if you order the 10 Piece Fish Family Meal instead of four separate plates.
Below is every priced item on the board right now, 90 of them, each with a photo, the price and the calorie count. Search it, filter it by category, or print the whole thing as a PDF.
I checked these against the Captain D’s online ordering menu on 14 September 2026 for a Nashville store. Captain D’s is franchised, so your local price can sit a little above or below what you see here.
What a meal at Captain D’s actually costs in 2026
One adult eating a main plate and a medium drink spends about $13.50 before tax. That is the number to plan around, and it holds whether you go at noon or at seven in the evening.
Captain D’s does not run a separate dinner price list. The lunch menu and the dinner menu carry identical prices, so Captain D’s dinner prices are the same $9.79 to $16.99 range you see at 11am.
The average main plate across the fish, chicken, grilled and classics sections works out to $10.49. Sides sit at $3.29 or $3.69 apiece, and the cheapest thing on the whole board is a 99 cent strawberry topping.
| What you order | Before tax | Per person |
|---|---|---|
| One person, cheapest possible plate | $5.49 | $5.49 |
| One person, 2 Piece Fish Meal plus a 30 oz drink | $12.88 | $12.88 |
| Two people, two fish meals plus two drinks | $25.76 | $12.88 |
| Family of four, 10 Piece Fish Family Meal plus a gallon of tea | $38.98 | $9.75 |
| Family of four ordering four separate plates and drinks | $51.52 | $12.88 |
| Four people using the online 10 Piece Fish Family Meal | $30.98 | $7.75 |
Swipe the table sideways on a phone to see every column.
None of those totals include sales tax. Add roughly 6 to 10 percent depending on your county, which turns a $12.88 order into about $13.94 in most of Tennessee.
Captain D’s food prices moved up twice in the last two years, and the family boxes took the hardest hit. More on that in the 2025 against 2026 section further down.
Captain D’s menu with prices and pictures for every item
Here is the whole board. Type a word in the box to find an item, tap a category chip to narrow it, or hit the print button to turn this Captain D’s price list into a PDF.
Every card carries the current price, the calorie count and a photo of the actual plate. If someone said show me the Captain D’s menu, this grid is the answer you hand them.
The Captain D’s menu and prices below are grouped the same way the ordering app groups them, so what you see here matches the tab order you will tap through at checkout.
Every item name is a link. Tap one and you get that dish on its own page with the full calorie, allergen and portion breakdown.
Nothing matched that search. Clear the box or tap a different category.
Category pages with more detail on every item sit here: fish favorites, Captain’s classics, grilled meals, family meals, combos, sides, desserts and beverages.

Pick a main, a side and a drink. The calculator adds an 8.25 percent blended sales tax so the number looks closer to what the register will say.
Exclusive online deals beat the in-store board on every plate
The online deals tab is the single biggest price gap on the menu, and most people never open it. A 4 Pc Fish Meal is $9.49 there against $12.59 on the counter board, which is $3.10 saved on one order.
The 10 Piece Fish Family Meal shows the gap at its widest. It is $25.99 online and $33.99 in store, an $8 difference for the same ten fillets and eight hush puppies.
These deals live inside the ordering flow at order.captainds.com and inside the My Captain D’s app. They are pickup prices, so a delivery app will not show them.
The catch is that participation is per store. If your location shows a shorter deals list than the one above, the franchisee opted out of some of them, which happens more often in single-store markets.
Full breakdown of that tab sits on the exclusive online deals menu page, and the codes that stack with it are on the promo code page.
What’s new on the Captain D’s menu this year
The Country-Style Garlic & Herb White Fish Meal at $5.99 is the most interesting thing Captain D’s has added since 2024. It is 190 calories before sides, which makes it the lightest main on the entire board.
Fried green tomatoes arrived in July 2026 at $3.99, paired with the house D’s Dippin’ Sauce. The tomatoes and pickles combo runs $5.99 and is big enough to share between two people.
The Ultimate Seafood Platter came back at $12.99 with five butterfly shrimp, two fillets, popcorn shrimp and two stuffed crab shells. At 1,370 calories it is the heaviest single-person order on the menu.
Anyone hunting the new Captain D’s menu with prices and pictures will find those six items in the What’s new filter above, photos included.
What left the menu matters as much as what arrived. Seafood gumbo, fried oysters and the lobster bites add-on all dropped off the national list during 2026 and now appear only in Gulf Coast stores.
Crispy crunchy shrimp had the shortest run of anything I have tracked here. It launched in March 2026 and was gone from most menus by July, which is about four months on the board.
Fish favorites and what each extra fillet really costs
Going from two fillets to three costs $1.60, and the jump from three to four costs $1.20. So the 4 Piece Batter Dipped Fish Meal at $12.59 is the best per-fillet deal in that section.
Catfish carries a premium. A 2 Piece Catfish Meal is $11.99 against $9.79 for the same count in batter-dipped fish, because the catfish is hand-breaded in seasoned cornmeal rather than batter-dipped.
Southern Style Whitefish at $9.99 is the one most regulars overlook. It is a single large fillet in yellow cornmeal breading, and it eats bigger than the two-piece plate at nearly the same price.
For the Captain D’s fish menu and prices broken down fillet by fillet, the fish menu guide goes deeper than this section does.
The Captain D’s platter lineup and how the platters differ
Four items on the menu are sold as platters, and the prices run from $12.99 to $14.59. Anyone searching for Captain D’s seafood platter prices is usually looking at one of these three.
The Deluxe Seafood Platter at $13.99 holds two fish fillets and six butterfly shrimp. The Ultimate Seafood Platter at $12.99 holds five shrimp, two fillets, popcorn shrimp and two crab shells, so it is both cheaper and larger.
That pricing looks wrong, and it is. The Ultimate is a limited-run item priced to move, and it has been pulled and reinstated twice since 2025, so grab it while it is on the board.
The Supreme Sampler Meal at $14.59 is the top of the platter range and adds chicken tenders to the mix. If you want fish only, skip it and take the Deluxe.
Grilled meals are the only low-calorie way out of here
A Grilled White Fish Meal is 180 calories before sides. The 4 Piece Batter Dipped Fish Meal is 920. Same restaurant, same fish counter, five times the calories.
Grilled plates cost $10.99 to $13.29 and come over a bed of rice with two sides and a breadstick. That is roughly a dollar more than the equivalent fried plate.
Wild Alaska Salmon at $13.29 is the priciest grilled item and the only named wild-caught species on the menu. At 230 calories it is also the highest protein per dollar on the board.
Pair any grilled main with broccoli at 20 calories and green beans at 70 and the whole tray lands under 400 calories, which is unusual for a fried seafood chain.
Why chicken at Captain D’s costs more per piece than fish
A 4 Piece Chicken Meal is $12.59 and a 4 Piece Batter Dipped Fish Meal is also $12.59, but the chicken pieces are tenders and the fish pieces are full fillets.
Going to five tenders costs 30 cents more at $12.89, which is the best incremental deal anywhere on the menu. Nothing else adds a whole protein piece for under a dollar.
The tenders are hand-breaded with the house seasoning blend instead of batter-dipped, and a single tender as an add-on runs $4.49.
Chicken exists here for the one person at the table who does not eat seafood. That is the honest reason it is on a fish menu, and the 2 Piece Fish & 2 Piece Chicken Meal at $12.59 is built for exactly that split.
If chicken is what you actually came for, the Big Chicken Sandwich Combo at $8.69 beats both tender plates on price. Three tenders on a bun with a side and a drink undercuts the $12.59 four-piece by $3.90.
Captain D’s sandwiches and combo prices
The Giant Fish Sandwich at $5.79 is the cheapest way to eat two fish fillets at Captain D’s. Turning it into a combo with a side and a drink pushes it to $10.99.
That $5.20 combo upcharge is worse than buying the pieces separately. A sandwich plus fries plus a medium drink comes to $12.17, so the combo does save money, just less than it looks.
The Big Chicken Sandwich at $6.19 holds three tenders with mayo and pickles. Its combo at $8.69 is the better buy of the two sandwich combos by a wide margin.
Cajun Catfish Sandwich sits at $8.49 alone and $11.99 as a combo. More detail on all of them is on the sandwiches menu page.
Family meals and what they cost per person
The 10 Piece Fish Family Meal at $33.99 works out to $8.50 a head for four people, against $12.88 a head if those four order separate plates and drinks. Order it online and the per-head figure drops to $6.50.
Four boxes are on the menu and the spread is $13. The 14 Piece Chicken Family Meal is $36.99, the Seafood Feast is $42.99 and the Family Sampler tops out at $46.99.
Family-size sides are what separate these from ordering four plates. You get two large sides for the table rather than eight small cups, so the food shows up hotter and faster.
For two people a family box does not pay off. At $33.99 split two ways it is $17 each, well above the $9.79 fish plate, so the break-even sits at three people.
Feeding more than six people pushes you into a catering order. Prices for that are on the catering menu page.
Ordering for a group of six or more without a catering form
Two family boxes cost less than one catering tray for the same headcount at most stores. A 10 Piece Fish Family Meal plus a 14 Piece Chicken Family Meal is $70.98 and feeds eight to nine people.
Call the store twenty minutes ahead if you are ordering two boxes at once. Fryer capacity is the bottleneck, not the till, and a cold-start double order can take 25 minutes at a single-fryer location.
Add two gallons of tea at $4.99 each instead of individual cups and the whole eight-person order lands at $80.96 before tax. That is $10.12 a head with drinks, which nothing on the single-plate menu can match.
Kids meals and what $6.69 gets you
All three kids meals sit at $6.69 or $6.99 and include one side. The fish meal is 230 calories, the popcorn shrimp 240 and the chicken tenders 360.
A kids meal costs more than the $5.49 adult online deal and holds less food. If your child eats a full fillet, the 1 Piece Fish and Fries is the cheaper order.
Drinks are not bundled into the kids price at most stores, which catches people out at the register. The kids menu page covers what each location includes.
Mac and cheese is the side to pick for a child who will not touch slaw or green beans. It is $3.69 as an extra and 170 calories, which is lighter than the fries at 330.
Kids meals do not come with hush puppies at most locations. Adding six for $3.29 costs more than the meal upgrade from fish to chicken, so it is worth asking before you pay.
Captain D’s sides menu with prices
Eight sides cost $3.29 or $3.69, and the loaded baked potato at $5.39 is the only one priced above four dollars. Meals already include two sides, so these prices apply when you add a third.
Broccoli at 20 calories and green beans at 70 are the two that change the calorie math on a tray. Fried okra at 320 and french fries at 330 undo it.
Green beans are slow-cooked with country ham, which matters if anyone at the table avoids pork. Broccoli is steamed to order and is the safest side for most diets.
Mac and cheese at $3.69 is the one children ask for, and it is the only side that regularly runs out by late evening at busy stores.
Appetizers and add-ons that turn a cheap plate into a full one
Five butterfly shrimp cost $1.99, which is the cheapest add-on anywhere on the menu. Bolt them onto the $5.49 online fish plate and you get a two-protein meal for $7.48.
Captain’s Ultimate Appetizer at $6.99 holds clam strips, butterfly shrimp and popcorn shrimp in one box. Bought separately those three come to $13.77, so the box saves $6.78.
Grilled shrimp at $4.49 for six is the only add-on that is not fried. At 100 calories it adds protein without wrecking a grilled plate.
Hush puppies come free with most full meals. Buying six on their own costs $3.29 and twelve costs $5.99, so the twelve-count is the better buy if you want extras.
Desserts and the 2 for $5 cheesecake worth knowing about
A single Classic Cheesecake is $4.49 and two of them are $5.00. Paying 51 cents for a second slice is the most lopsided deal on the entire menu.
Funnel Cake Stix at $3.59 are the cheapest dessert and the only one built for sharing. Key Lime Pie at $4.99 is the priciest.
Strawberry topping is 99 cents and goes on any cheesecake slice. Oreo cheesecake rotates in and out depending on the store and the season.
Drinks, gallon tea and where the markup hides
A 20 oz soft drink is $2.79 and a 40 oz is $3.59. You pay 80 cents to double the volume, which is why the large is the only cup size that makes sense on its own.
A gallon of sweet tea costs $4.99. That is roughly six large cups of tea for less than the price of two, and it is the best-value item on the drinks list by a distance.
Gallon lemonade is $9.99, double the tea, because it is Tropicana rather than brewed in house. Free refills apply to dine-in fountain drinks at most locations but not to gallons.
The drinks menu page lists every flavor in the fountain, including Starry and Mountain Dew.
Captain D’s senior menu with prices and who can order it
Senior plates run $5.99 to $8.99 and the entry point is the Southern-Style Fish Tender Dinner at $5.99. Most participating stores set the age at 62 and up, not 55 or 60.

Southern-Style Fish Tender Dinner
Cornmeal-breaded fish tenders with one side and a hush puppy. The cheapest way in on a senior day.

Grilled Lemon Pepper White Fish
Lemon pepper seasoned white fish over rice with one side, grilled rather than fried.

Blackened Tilapia
A blackened tilapia fillet with no breading, served with rice and a side.

Grilled Shrimp Skewer
One skewer of fire-grilled shrimp over rice, the lightest plate on the senior list.

Lemon Herb Salmon
Lemon herb salmon fillet with one side. The most ordered item on the senior menu.
Photos show the closest matching plate from the regular menu, because the senior plates use the same proteins cooked the same way.
Senior appreciation pricing usually lands on Sunday and Wednesday at stores that run it. Ask at the counter before you order, because it is rarely printed on the board.
This is a franchise decision, not a corporate one. Roughly half the locations I have checked run a senior price and the other half run a flat 10 percent discount instead.
The senior menu leans grilled, which is deliberate. Four of the five items are grilled or blackened rather than fried, and the Lemon Herb Salmon at $8.99 is the most ordered of them.
More on eligibility, the days it runs and how to ask for it is on the senior discount page and the senior menu with prices page.
The Captain D’s value menu and the cheapest ways to eat here
Captain D’s does not print a value menu the way a burger chain does. What it has instead is a set of value meals scattered across the online deals and What’s new tabs, all priced under $6.
Six items clear the under-six-dollar bar right now. The 1 Piece Fish and Fries at $5.49, the 2 Piece Fish and Fries Meal at $5.99, the Country-Style Garlic & Herb White Fish Meal at $5.99, the Fish & Shrimp Meal at $5.99 and the Giant Fish Sandwich at $5.79.
That last one is the sleeper. Two fillets on a bun for $5.79 is more fish than the $5.49 plate, and the bun fills you up for the same money.
Captain D’s prices per person drop hardest when you stop buying drinks. Four people sharing a $4.99 gallon of tea instead of four $3.09 cups saves $7.37 on one visit.
The cheapest full sit-down meal for two: two 2 Piece Fish and Fries Meals at $5.99 each plus a gallon of tea at $4.99. That is $16.97 before tax for two people, hush puppies included.
Which Captain D’s order gives you the most food per dollar
The 4 Pc Fish Meal ordered online at $9.49 is the best food-per-dollar order on the menu. That is $2.37 a fillet with two sides and hush puppies included, and nothing else comes close.
I worked this out by dividing each plate’s price by the number of protein pieces on it, then checking the calorie count as a second sanity test. The ranking below is what came out.
| Item | Price | Pieces | Cost per piece |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 Piece Butterfly Shrimp add-on | $1.99 | 5 shrimp | $0.40 |
| 12 Hush Puppies | $5.99 | 12 puppies | $0.50 |
| 20 Piece Butterfly Shrimp Meal | $12.99 | 20 shrimp | $0.65 |
| 4 Pc Fish Meal, online price | $9.49 | 4 fillets | $2.37 |
| 5 Piece Chicken Meal | $12.89 | 5 tenders | $2.58 |
| 10 Piece Fish Family Meal, online price | $25.99 | 10 fillets | $2.60 |
| 4 Piece Batter Dipped Fish Meal, in store | $12.59 | 4 fillets | $3.15 |
| 2 Piece Batter Dipped Fish Meal | $9.79 | 2 fillets | $4.90 |
Swipe sideways on a phone to see every column.
The two-piece plate is the worst value on that list and the most ordered item in the chain. People buy it because it is the portion they want, not because the arithmetic favours it.
On calories per dollar the same 4 Pc Fish Meal wins again at roughly 148 calories per dollar. The grilled white fish plate sits at 16, which is the point of ordering it.
One caveat on all of this. Butterfly shrimp are small, so the 40 cents a piece figure flatters them next to a full fish fillet, and I would not order twenty shrimp expecting the same fullness as four fillets.
Captain D’s specials with prices, day by day
The weekly specials are not national. Each franchise picks from a corporate list, so the Tuesday fish deal that runs in Memphis may not exist in Columbus.
The patterns that show up most often are a two-for-one fish plate on Tuesday, a family box discount on Sunday, and a senior price on Wednesday. Prices on those sit between $4.99 and $7.99.
Limited-time offers are different from weekly specials. The 2 for $5 cheesecake and the $5.99 fish and shrimp plate are national LTOs that run for six to ten weeks at a time.
Anyone looking for Captain D’s prices and menu specials in one place should check the store-level menu in the app first, because that is the only feed that reflects your actual location.
Current offers are tracked on the specials, weekly specials, deals today and Tuesday deals pages.
Takeout prices against dine-in prices
Takeout and dine-in cost exactly the same at Captain D’s. The online ordering menu, the drive-thru board and the counter board all carry one price list per store.
Delivery is where that breaks. DoorDash and Uber Eats list the same fish plate 15 to 25 percent higher before the delivery fee, so a $9.79 meal shows up as $11.50 to $12.25.
So the takeout Captain D’s menu with prices you see above holds for pickup and drive-thru orders, and stops holding the moment a third-party courier is involved.
Drive-thru carries one more quirk. Online-only deals cannot be redeemed at the window, because the discount is attached to the order in the app rather than to the store’s register.
How to save this Captain D’s menu with prices as a PDF
Hit the print button in the menu tool bar above, then choose Save as PDF in the print dialog instead of a printer. The page strips out the search box, the calculator and the navigation, and lays the items out three across.
That gives you a printable Captain D’s menu with prices and pictures that is current the day you save it, which a static PDF file never is.
On an iPhone, tap the share icon in Safari, choose Print, then pinch outward on the preview and tap the share icon again to save the PDF to Files. Android handles it through the browser menu under Print.
Anyone searching for a Captain D’s menu with prices 2026 PDF is usually trying to compare prices in the car park. The print view above does that job and updates when we update prices.
PDFs of the 2025 menu still float around search results. Skip them. Nine prices changed between the 2025 and 2026 menus, and the family meals moved the most, so an old file will cost you money at the register.
Why Captain D’s menu prices near me look different from this list
People searching Captain D’s menu near me usually want two things, the price list and proof the store is still open. The price list is above, and the locator link below handles the second part.
Captain D’s runs about 520 restaurants across 25 states, and the large majority are franchised. Each franchisee sets their own prices inside a corporate band, which is normally 5 to 12 percent wide.
Airport, turnpike and military base locations sit at the top of that band. Rural stores in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee usually sit at the bottom.
The fastest way to get your own numbers is to open the ordering site, set your store, and let the menu reprice itself. It takes about fifteen seconds and it is the only price that will match your receipt.
Store hours, addresses and the locator are covered on the Captain D’s near me page.
What changed between the 2025 and 2026 Captain D’s menu prices
Family meals took the biggest increase. The 10 Piece Fish Family Meal moved from $29.99 to $33.99 across 2025 and 2026, a 13 percent rise on one item.
If you saved a Captain D’s menu with prices 2025 copy, almost every family line on it is now wrong by three to four dollars. Single plates on that same sheet are still within 50 cents.
Single plates moved less. The 2 Piece Batter Dipped Fish Meal went from $9.29 to $9.79, about 5 percent, which tracks roughly with US restaurant inflation over the same stretch.
Sides went up by 20 to 40 cents each. Drinks moved the least of anything on the board, with the small soft drink rising 10 cents.
The bigger change was not price at all. Several regional items, including seafood gumbo and fried oysters, quietly left the national menu during 2026 and now surface only in Gulf Coast stores.
Captain D’s prices in the UK and outside the US
There are no Captain D’s restaurants in the UK, so there is no UK price list. The chain operates in 25 US states plus a small number of military bases overseas.
People searching for Captain D’s prices UK are usually thinking of a different chain. Harry Ramsden’s and the independent chippy trade fill that slot in Britain, and their pricing works nothing like this.
Every price on this page is in US dollars at participating US locations. If you are reading this from outside the US, treat it as reference and not as a menu you can order from.
The one overseas exception is military bases. A handful of Captain D’s units operate on US installations abroad, and those run on the US menu at US-style prices rather than local ones.
Canada has none either, which comes up almost as often as the UK question. The closest comparable chain north of the border is Captain’s Boil, and it is a different format entirely.
What fish Captain D’s actually uses after the 2026 change
Captain D’s changed the fish in its batter-dipped fillets and has not said what it changed to. In February 2026 the company confirmed it had “recently changed our fish due to market availability” without naming the new species.
Before that, company material pointed at pollock and tilapia. A 2017 brand video named pollock outright, and the website listed pollock, tilapia and a generic “white fish” at different points.
Regular customers started noticing a difference in texture in mid-2025, months before the company said anything. Plenty of them believe the switch was to swai, a farmed Vietnamese catfish, though that has never been confirmed and I would not state it as fact.
What is named on the menu stays named. Catfish plates are catfish, the Wild Alaska Salmon is wild-caught salmon, and the grilled tilapia is tilapia. Only the battered fillet is the open question.
If species matters to you, order the grilled salmon at $13.29 or a catfish plate from $11.99. Both are labelled and neither is affected by the change.
What the batter, the hush puppies and the sauces are actually like
The batter is the whole reason people drive to Captain D’s instead of a grocery store freezer aisle. It is a thin, crackly coating rather than the thick beer-batter shell you get at a British chippy.
Hush puppies are the second signature, and they come free with most full meals. They are savoury rather than sweet, made from a cornmeal batter with onion in it, and 320 calories for six.
Three sauces show up across the menu. Tartar sauce comes with fish, cocktail sauce with shrimp, and D’s Dippin’ Sauce is the sweet and tangy house sauce that goes with clam strips and fried green tomatoes.
Buttermilk ranch appears with the fried pickles and the fried green tomato basket. Extra sauce cups usually cost 25 to 50 cents each, though several stores hand over two or three without charging.
One honest complaint I see repeated more than any other is that the fillets have got thinner since 2025. I cannot verify portion weights, but enough people say it that it is worth going in with calibrated expectations.
Calories, allergens and the gluten question
Calorie counts on this page run from 20 for steamed broccoli to 3,870 for the Seafood Feast, which is a family box rather than one person’s dinner. A normal adult plate lands between 900 and 1,100.
Captain D’s cannot be treated as gluten-free. The fryers are shared, so even items with no gluten in the recipe pick up cross-contact from breaded fish and hush puppies.
Grilled items over rice are the safest path for anyone avoiding gluten, along with baked potato, broccoli, green beans, corn and rice. That is a real menu, just a short one.
Shellfish and fish allergens sit across most of the board, which makes this a hard restaurant for a shellfish allergy even on the chicken plates. Fryer oil is shared with shrimp and clam strips.
Full breakdowns are on the calories and nutrition, allergen menu and gluten-free menu pages, and the official nutrition and allergy data is published at captainds.com.
Hours, ordering and payment before you drive over
Most locations open at 10:30 am and close at 10 pm Monday through Thursday and Sunday, with an 11 pm close on Friday and Saturday. There is no breakfast service anywhere in the chain.
Four ways to order exist. Dine-in, drive-thru, pickup through order.captainds.com or the My Captain D’s app, and delivery through DoorDash and Uber Eats at participating stores.
Cards, cash, Apple Pay and Google Pay all work at the vast majority of locations. Gift cards work in store and online, and the balance can be checked on the gift card balance page.
D’s Rewards pays one point per dollar on app and website orders only. Appetizers start at 50 points and full meals redeem around 200, and points do not expire.
Holiday hours shift a lot, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Those are tracked on the holiday hours page and the daily hours on the opening and closing times page.
How Captain D’s prices compare with Long John Silver’s
Captain D’s undercuts Long John Silver’s on every matched item I could line up. A two-piece fish meal is $9.79 against $12.89, a $3.10 gap on the most common order at both chains.
| Matched item | Captain D’s | Long John Silver’s | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two-piece fish meal with two sides | $9.79 | $12.89 | $3.10 cheaper |
| Family box, ten pieces against eight | $33.99 | $42.09 | $8.10 cheaper |
| One individual side | $3.29 | $3.49 | 20 cents cheaper |
| Grilled salmon plate | $13.29 | $14.39 | $1.10 cheaper |
Swipe sideways on a phone to see every column.
Long John Silver’s prices come from a menu dated 28 August 2026, so the two lists are close enough in time to compare fairly. Both chains price by franchise, so your local gap will differ.
Where Long John Silver’s wins is the grilled single piece. One grilled salmon fillet is $6.29 there with no equivalent a la carte option at Captain D’s.
How to order at Captain D’s for the lowest price
Seven steps, in this order, cut a typical family order by $10 to $14 without dropping a single item from the tray.
- Open the online ordering menu firstGo to order.captainds.com or the My Captain D’s app and set your store before you look at anything. Prices change with the store you pick.
- Check the Exclusive Online Deals tabThis tab holds the cheapest plates on the whole menu. The 4 Pc Fish Meal sits at $9.49 there against $12.59 on the in-store board.
- Add the deal before any full-price entreeSome deals stop working once a full-price main is already in the cart. Put the discounted item in first, then build around it.
- Size the drink downA small 20 oz soft drink is $2.79 against $3.59 for the 40 oz. That is 80 cents saved per person on a family of four.
- Choose pickup instead of deliveryDelivery apps mark the same fish plate up by 15 to 25 percent before fees. Pickup keeps the listed price.
- Apply the promo code at checkoutCodes go in the box above the payment step. Only one code works per order and family meals are usually excluded.
- Sign in to D’s Rewards before you payYou earn one point per dollar on app and website orders, and appetizers start at 50 points. In-store orders earn nothing.
Run all seven and a family of four eating ten pieces of fish with a gallon of tea comes to $30.98 before tax. The same food ordered as four separate plates with four large drinks comes to $53.72.
Common problems with Captain D’s prices and how to fix them
| Issue | Why it happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| App price is higher than this page | Your franchisee prices above the corporate midpoint, or you are in delivery mode | Switch the order type to pickup, then compare a second store in the locator |

Captain D’s menu questions people actually ask
Does Captain D’s take EBT or SNAP?
Only in a handful of states that run the Restaurant Meals Program, and only at approved stores. Most Captain D’s locations are cash, card, Apple Pay and Google Pay only. Call the store before you drive over.
Is there an all you can eat fish deal at Captain D’s?
No. Captain D’s dropped all-you-can-eat years ago and has not brought it back for 2026. The closest thing is the 4 Pc Fish Meal at $9.49 online, or the 10 Piece Fish Family Meal at $25.99 online.
Can I order Captain D’s on DoorDash or Uber Eats?
Yes at most locations, but the menu prices inside those apps are marked up, usually by 15 to 25 percent, before the delivery fee and tip. Ordering pickup on the Captain D’s site keeps the prices you see on this page.
Does Captain D’s charge extra for hush puppies?
Most full meals include hush puppies already. Sandwiches, combos and single add-ons do not, so a 6 Hush Puppies order costs $3.29 and twelve run $5.99.
What is the biggest single-person meal on the menu?
The Ultimate Seafood Platter at $12.99, with five butterfly shrimp, two fish fillets, popcorn shrimp and two stuffed crab shells at 1,370 calories. The 4 Piece Catfish Meal at $16.99 costs more but carries fewer calories.
Do Captain D’s prices include sales tax?
No. Every price on the menu board and in the app is pre-tax, so add roughly 6 to 10 percent depending on your state and county. A $9.79 fish meal lands near $10.60 in most of Tennessee.
Is there a Captain D’s breakfast menu?
No. Doors open at 10:30 am and the first thing served is lunch. There has never been a national breakfast menu at Captain D’s.
Does Captain D’s give a military discount?
Some franchises offer 10 percent off with a valid military ID, but it is not a company-wide policy and it is never stacked with a coupon. Ask before you order rather than at the window.
Can I buy a family meal for just two people?
Yes, and it often makes sense. The 10 Piece Fish Family Meal at $33.99 works out to $17 a head for two, which is more than a $9.79 fish plate, so it only pays off from three people up.
What is D’s Dippin’ Sauce and does it cost extra?
It is the house sweet and tangy dipping sauce that comes with clam strips, popcorn shrimp and fried green tomatoes. The first cup is free with those items, and extra cups are usually 25 to 50 cents.
How many calories are in a typical Captain D’s meal?
A two-piece fish meal with fries and hush puppies lands around 900 to 1,100 calories. Switching to a grilled plate over rice with broccoli drops that near 400.
Does Captain D’s still sell lobster rolls?
Lobster rolls and lobster bites come back as limited-run items rather than permanent menu lines, so availability depends on the season and the store.
